The Federal Government Just Made a Devastating Mistake—And Now We Need YOU
We are shocked. We are heartbroken. And we are angry.
As of April, the federal government has quietly canceled one of the most critical programs supporting disaster relief efforts across the United States: the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC).
Since 2022, 140 young Americans—most under the age of 25—have answered the call to serve through this program by joining Ground Force Humanitarian Aid. For 2 to 4 weeks at a time, they traded in their phones for shovels, their sneakers for steel-toed boots, and their comfort for crisis zones.

They Did the Work No One Else Would:
- Cleaning out mold-infested homes so elderly survivors could breathe safely again.
- Carrying hundreds of pounds of debris to clear roads and properties.
- Rebuilding access ramps and porches for disabled residents trapped in their homes.
- Scouring toxic farmland in Rolling Fork, Mississippi to remove dangerous storm debris—by hand—so the land could be farmed again.
- Showing up with love, muscle, and grit for people forgotten by every other system.
They did this not for fame, or money, or likes. They did it because it was right.
And now—it’s gone.

With NCCC Gone, Who Will Protect the Vulnerable?
The NCCC program, which gave these young Americans a structured, powerful way to serve their country and their communities, has been shut down.
This is more than a policy mistake. It’s a moral failure.
1 in 3 Americans is now over the age of 65. In just 20 years, it will be 1 in 2. When hurricanes strike, when floods devastate towns, when tornadoes level homes—who will help them now?
Because unless the supporters of these cuts are ready to show up—in Tyvek suits, respirators, and soaked-through boots—then the responsibility now falls on us.

Its Up to You Now
So we are asking—no, begging—YOU to step up.
If you’ve ever said, “I wish I could help,” this is the moment.
If you’ve ever thought, “Someone should do something,” you’re that someone.
The hurricane season is coming fast. Our elderly neighbors are more vulnerable than ever. And now one of our strongest lifelines has been cut.
Will you take their place?
Will you give two weeks, even just a few days, to protect those who have no one else?
If you’ve got the heart, we’ll train you.
If you’ve got the time, we’ll deploy you.
If you’ve got the courage, we’ll stand with you.
The boots are empty now—but they don’t have to stay that way.
