Hope Has a System—And It’s Ready for Hurricane Season

The Storm Is Coming—And We’re Ready. Are You With Us?
As hurricane season barrels toward the Gulf and Atlantic coasts, communities across the U.S. are bracing for what could be another devastating year. But while the forecasts dominate the headlines, there’s a quieter crisis unfolding beneath the radar—one that doesn’t dissipate when the winds die down.
It’s the growing humanitarian emergency facing our elderly, disabled, and low-income neighbors in the aftermath of disaster.
At Ground Force Humanitarian Aid (GFHA), we exist for these exact moments. We are a data-driven, boots-on-the-ground nonprofit with one mission: to protect and stabilize the most vulnerable survivors of natural disasters—swiftly and over the long haul.

The Urgent Crisis: Aging + Disasters
Since 1980, the number of Americans over age 65 has increased by 184%. In that same timeframe, billion-dollar weather disasters have skyrocketed by 667%.
Together, these trends have created a dangerous reality: over half of older adults affected by disasters face long-term or permanent displacement. Many can’t evacuate. Most can’t afford to recover on their own. And far too often, they are forgotten when the news cameras move on.
We’re changing that.

Our Five-Program Model: Designed for Impact
Over the past four years, GFHA has responded to 20 major disasters, delivering over $60 million in impact—on less than $4 million in total funding. How? With a structured, repeatable response model built around five core programs:
- SAFE Camp
A forward-operating, solar-powered base that functions as a volunteer reception center (VRC), supply distribution hub (POD), and victim intake center. Designed for speed, dignity, and collaboration, SAFE Camp ensures that help reaches those who need it most—fast. - Community Caretaking
Trained citizen volunteers live in impacted communities, offering services ranging from generator refueling and tree removal to mobile health care, case management, and emotional support. We meet people where they are—literally. - Data-Driven Remote Teams
Powered by our proprietary Stability.org platform, our remote teams track every volunteer hour and donated item, coordinate logistics, and ensure FEMA match compliance. Precision meets compassion. - Visual Storytelling
Real-time video, social media, and digital storytelling amplify survivor voices, keep donors engaged, and drive national attention to forgotten communities long after the storms pass. - Swift Intervention Training
Year-round training programs prepare individuals, businesses, churches, and civic groups to become certified responders—ready to support relief efforts in their own communities or nationwide.
